If you love fashion, travel, sunny islands and Nigel Barker – then pack your bags for one of the industry’s fast-rising destination events – The 8th Annual Summer Sizzle BVI Fashion & Lifestyle Weekend, July 13th-18th. Noted international fashion photographer, author, and current host of “The Face”, Nigel Barker, has just been announced as host of the four-day luxe soiree in the Virgin Islands and Golden Globe Award winner and star of #1 hit show, Empire – actress Taraji P. Henson will make a special celebrity guest appearance. Summer Sizzle BVI kicked off with a glamorous media party in epicentre of New York’s fashion district on May 11 at the Yumi Katsura Showroom.
“The breathtaking, panoramic landscape of the Virgin Islands is the ideal location and backdrop for a fashion celebration like Summer Sizzle BVI. We are delighted to have Nigel Barker as host and Taraji P. Henson who has continued to promote the event to an international audience,” said Terry Donovan, Founder & CEO of Summer Sizzle BVI.
The four-day weekend event, which is produced by Signature by Terry Donovan Events, is in its 8th year and will feature headline designers including Rouland Mouret, Paris, Duro Olowu, London, Maria Cornejo, Chile, PRISM, London, CAPARA, Belgium, Arden Warhol, NYC, TOME, NYC. Other designers include Mark Anthony, Jamaica, Randy Madray, Guyana, Roger Gary, Cesar Galindo, Andrew Nowell and Carlton Jones from NYC will also show their collections.
This year, six of the British Virgin Islands’ most promising designers mentored by Kristin Frazer of Trefle Designs will make their debut during the newly minted BVI Emerging Designer Showcase segment of the Global Glamour Runway Show. The designers are Liliana Rhymer, Rhenique Cooper, Khadisha Isaac, Ruth Headlam, Sasha Richards and Akeem Stanley.
