In an effort to give back to the Virgin Islands community, Caribbean Insurance Ltd (CIL) held a major Health and Wellness Expo, for the second time at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town on Saturday 21st May 2016, to several hundreds of people.
At least seven hundred people came through the doors and participated in a packed schedule of activities such as Zumba, salsa, aerobics, free testing of spirometry, blood, glucose and amenia for adults and children, who likewise had the option of listening and participating in educational seminars on nutritional food advice and preparation, dental health, chronic care self-management, lead poisoning, cancer awareness and win lots of prizes from 9 am to 4 pm.
Director of Caribbean Insurance Simone Monsanto explained that the event is a way of giving back to the Virgin Island community by promoting health, wellness and preventative care to the people, which in turn could reduce the medical burden on the Government.
