We eagerly await your arrival!” This year, Junior Minister of Tourism and Culture, Honourable Luce Hodge Smith, also calls upon all Virgin Islanders living abroad to return home. “We are celebrating our 70th anniversary of the festival, but we must never forget the reason why we are celebrating, which is 190 years of freedom from slavery,” Honourable Luce Hodge Smith emphasized. “It is an opportunity for those who live abroad to come home, celebrate, rekindle relationships, meet with family and friends, and enjoy the occasion as we mark this awesome milestone. We encourage everyone to be safe, have fun, and enjoy the activities we have planned. Welcome home, have a great time, and enjoy the wonderful celebration!”

The festivities kick off with the captivating Torch Light Procession, setting the stage for a month of celebration. The ‘Big People Party’ follows, where music and dance take center stage, complemented by traditional concession stands offering a tempting array of local food and drinks. One of the festival’s highlights is the two-day Cultural Food Fair, a culinary delight for the senses.
