“We want you to come and enjoy the warm feeling, the green shady trees; the ambience of the sea; the radiant sunset; the cool breeze flowing through a nice open area while you relax and dine on our delicious local food with a Cruzin twist,” Proprietors of Cruizin Bar and Grille Andre & Keisha Donovan remarked. “So when you come here, you will be awed.”
Need a place to satisfy your hunger? You can find a wide range of restaurants all over the place, but if you are the customer who’s looking for an enjoyable meal in a cool, outdoor location, with the beautiful Carrot Bay a few yards away, with food specially flavoured by herbs and seasonings straight from the Virgin Islands grounds, and juices straight off the fruit of tropical trees, you have found the place. Cruizin Bar and Grille is that place, and just as the name suggests, just cruise in and you are hooked.
Long before you meet the white rocks, near the water’s edge and the natural shell museum, that has become their landmark, the smell of hand-picked herbs on either jerk pork, jerk chicken, ribs, lobster or grilled fish will let your senses lead the way. “We wanted to be different,” Proprietor and Chef Andre Donovan told VI Life and Style Magazine of his choice of preparing natural foods. According to the self-acclaimed “Grill Master”, he and his wife Keisha who deals with the desserts, drinks, and also the grill, come from a long line of chefs and it was always their dream to own a restaurant and work for themselves.
The couple started honing their skills on the grill and began laying the groundwork and building their brand long ago with their weekend jerk chicken and pork. When the opportunity arose to acquire their own restaurant a shout away from the comfort of home, they seized it. So far Cruizin Bar and Grille has been in operation for about one month under new management. Prior to that, it was closed for about two years. “I live at the back there so every time I passed here I would say, this place needs to be reopened,” he recalled. Putting thoughts into action, the couple quit working for others and put their efforts into working for themselves.
Today, the place is bright and inviting. “We want you to come and enjoy the warm feeling; the green shady trees; the ambience of the sea; the radiant sunset; the cool breeze flowing through a nice open area while you relax and dine on our delicious local food with a Cruzin twist,” Proprietors of Cruizin Bar and Grille, Andre & Keisha Donovan remarked. “So when you come here, you will be awed,” they added.
