Jazz and Style Festival-Pure Bliss

My black ballerina flats hit the pavement in a low thump as I quickened my steps towards the source of the action. It was the very first staging of the Jazz and Style Festival at the Tortola Pier Park and I was anxious to witness what was going down.

The stage was set, with all the sounds and light checks complete. Just over a year after the multimillion dollar, Tortola Pier Park opened its doors, the park was once again in the spotlight May 26th & 27th, 2017.

The five-acre shopping facility’s festival was a fusion of the top of the line in the Jazz world accompanied by the best in the reggae and fashion world. The event saw the headlining artists Dean Frazer featuring Alaine and Karen Smith, Etienne Charles and Creole Soul and Morgan Heritage.

Also on show were the Stingray Singers, Dalan Vanterpool, Kamau Georges and Supermodel Naima Mora, cycle four winner of America’s Next Top Model was also a featured guest.
“We are creating a signature event for Tortola Pier Park that will showcase our vast offerings at the facility while providing the perfect environment where locals and visitors alike can enjoy the distinctive rhythmic music being performed by local and international artists. As such, the Jazz & Style Festival was developed creating the perfect fusion of music and fashion. We are very excited about this event and are confident that it will add to the appeal of the BVI and encourage more visitors to visit our shores,” Meslyn Allan, Leasing and Marketing Manager of Tortola Pier Park Ltd said.

Hundreds turned out to witness the event including VI Life & Style Magazine.
