Today the Government of the Virgin Islands signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Center for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) to strengthen the fisheries sector, forge closer collaborative opportunities and co-operation over a three year period between Britain and British Overseas Territories.
The signing of a MoU was undertaken by Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr. Hon. Kedrick Pickering for the Virgin Islands and Admiral Tom Karsten CEO, Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science for the United Kingdom.
It took place at the Government Administrative Complex, on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.
According to Pickering, this MoU benefits includes: exchanging technical information, visits, training, and cooperative research and projects and will definitely push the industry forward in making it the 3rd economic pillar of the Territory.
